Omega Made In Japan?

    I would be very surprised to find a mechanical movement inside. Probably a Japanese made quartz movement.

    Omega would never made a caseback like that with the words "Japan Movt". First, it is not proper English. Second, the quality of that bracelet is horrible.

    I'm afraid that your grandfather was sold a fake Omega in France.

    Look, we all get it that you desperately want it to be authentic - but it's a fake. Sorry!

    We don't have to work at Omega to know this but if you doubt us feel free to spend good money to send it to Omega for them to tell you the same thing we have.

    You and your grandfather shouldn't feel bad. That far back there obviously was no internet and it was much harder to share information and to confirm if something was real or not. Unfortunately it doesn't have much monetary value but it still has all of the sentimental value and that hasn't changed.
