The fruth is that ALL traditional watches -- yes, Rolex, even you -- are likely to go with the dinosaurs. It's just a question of how long it will take.
As long as there are people who tie their self worth to posessions there will be a market for Rolex and other luxury brands, regardless of what they make.
"Mom! Dad's on the internet again!"
"What's it this time?! WWII or watches?"
"Omega vs Rolex."
"For Chris'sake, can't he just look at porn!"
The article which the OP cites also has another table regarding value retention (VR) which I feel is more relevant in the whole discussion about which brand performs better on the secondary market:
Even if Omega's secondary market prices have gained 1.9% in Q1 of 2026 (vs 1.7% for Rolex), they are still way behind for value retention, which means that the vast majority of Omega watches will sell at a loss compared to Rolex. So, I don't know how the OP can assert that "Omega outperforms Rolex" if I'll likely end up losing money by buying a brand new Omega at retail.
