Has anyone else seen the Omega Commander's watch that Luxe Watches are giving away? Does anybody know if they're legitimate? Seems a very good prize to win..

Hi Jake. No, they aren't legitimate Jake. Allow me to elaborate on that :)

You see, when the idiot who runs the company, (in this case luxewatches is owned and operated by a guy named "Jake Martin") decides to come onto a watch forum pretending to be a member of the general public with no actual association with the brand, there's a term for that called "Astroturfing".

Its an extremely dishonest and deceptive business practice used by only the most desperate and frankly untrustworthy of businessmen to try to market their product. Given we always say "Buy the seller" I would strongly advise people to never, ever buy a watch from someone like you Jake, as if you're willing to lie to your customers here, there's a reasonable chance you'll lie to them about anything.

For anyone curious, here's an article mentioning our very own @jakemartin77 as the owner of the business he's supposedly curious but unknowledgeable about: https://www.ablogtowatch.com/buying-watches-essex-england-luxe-watches/

lol. Y'know you could have just not used your name, Jake.

But I guess I shouldn't give him any "bright" ideas.

I bought a WG Rolex Meteorite Daytona from them about 2 years ago. Decent company to deal with, usually, with the exception of this incident.

Luxe watches, eh? Well that's a very convincing argument in favour of me disliking the company. Thanks @dsio!

“Essex is known for its style...”

But not in a good way.

Absolutely entertaining for us and shameful for him assuming @jakemartin77 is really the proprietor of the business. However it would be worth hearing from those on here who’ve had ground level experience with the business to see how it measures up.

That is not the issue here, I would not care if they gave away a free gold doubloon with each purchase. They are falsely advertising and using the forum to drum up publicity and customers. We don't run commercial ads here and we don't want the members to be subjected to them surreptitiously.

Haha got me good fair enough ::facepalm2::.. not the business owner though. Just trying to drum up a bit of interest on our giveaway, not trying to trick people or be dishonest in that sense.

This is valid under the assumption that @jakemartin77 is truly the business proprietor/representative. Any way to find out with more certainty?

Yes you were “trying to trick people or be dishonest”.

Strange to try coming clean and yet still remain so dirty...
