Still on the hunt for a descent vintage timepiece this time found an Omega Geneve ref-14724 correct me if I am wrong , and would like to know your opinion about its condition and price (450 euros).

I would say if that's an original dial, which I'm fairly certain it is, then that's a big winner to me. 馃憤

The dial is definitely original and the case looks very good.

It's hard to be too sure of the condition as the pictures are poor but it looks a no brainer for me at that price.

Maybe just the photos, but the right side lugs look bent.

Otherwise case is sharp and dial better than usual, price is good.

Much better photos are needed to asses the conditon. It seems to be a scratch on the dial...

Be patient - ask for a better photo of the dial. And proof of the service.

Well the owner is a watchmaker himself so I dont need a proof but I can ask for some better photos , but the dial doesnt seem to have something wrong .

Looks like a good watch at a good price to me. It鈥檚 not that easy to find 1950s and early 1960s Geneves in good condition and they are beautiful watches. Here鈥檚 my 1959 reference 2903. It鈥檚 in near mint condition, but I paid close to double the asking price on your example, OP.

A bit hard to tell from the photos but the watch looks good to me. I would say don鈥檛 wait for proof of service etc. 400 is a good price even without service IMO.

Haha, I agree! And if you are not completely new to the game, this type of deal is where the chances of a bargain is in my experience.

For me there are too many marks on the dial. If it was a tool watch maybe I could live with it, but there are quite a few spots on the dial where paint seems to be missing. If this is a specific reference you want then its a fair price but I am sure with a bit of patience you could find a better example than this.
