    Hello Guys,

Would you have some information about this beauty?

From what I have gather so far, this is an Geneve Dynamic (pretty obvious) with a caliber 1022 produced circa 1970.

This specific one looks in pretty good shape!
I want to pull the trigger but I wanted to ask here first =)

What would be a correct price for this one? I am always scared to overpay ...

    Thanks for your help!

These aren't in very much demand so prices are fairly modest. I'd say it should be in the 250-350euro range.

The most expensive Dynamics should be the early ones with the cal. 565 or the 18K ones of course. These ones are less, as said above 250-350€.

Can't comment on the price or demand, but what a beautiful example! Is the 1022 a reliable movement?

I believe the 1022 is the reliable version of the 1001, which had issues with its self-lubrication system.

I have a Geneve 1022 that somehow keeps chronometre standards. I have no idea why, but it's my most accurate watch.

According to the seller, it is =)

    Thanks for this useful information

That is a really low price! Seller is asking 850€ at the moment.
The watch is like new, all original and has been fully serviced in 2010

You should be able to get a pristine first generation Dynamic for that. A second generation shouldn't cost as much as that.

Ah, well you could ask to be the King of Belgium, but that wouldn't make it so. if you see what I mean.

    I see =)

It's just that I see plenty of Omega Geneve in "fair" condition selling for 250€ on Ebay.
They are not NOS, sometimes they do not have the original crown, or they have been polished and they usually require a servicing.

So I was thinking that a watch that is in "like new" condition, everything original, even the bracelet and being serviced recently would cost at least 250€ + servicing cost + premium for "like new" condition and all original so at least 500-600€.

Or is this watch simply worth less than another omega geneve?

Happy to learn something here =)

The first generation Dynamic Geneve has the brushed finish. A very good example should be 750-850 Euros.

The second generation Dynamic Geneve has the polished finish and is usually priced lower.

On eBay it is increasingly hard to find very good examples. There are a lot of poor or average ones for 300-400 Euros, but occasionally you can pick out a good one at that price.

"Worth less" is very subjective. "More collectible" is probably nearer the point. I think the earlier dynamic's are more collectible than (your) later model. Having said that I think it's a beautiful watch. 850 euro's seems a bit steep for me...if you like the watch, try to knock him down a bit and buy it.... Here's my 1970 cal 565 with original strap and buckle. Was about 500 sterling...

Thanks! That is a really nice collection!

Would you have a closer picture of the one with the silver dial?
    It looks stunning!

Thank you for your explanation. I get what you mean by "more collectible". I think it sums up pretty well the situation.
I was also mislead by the fact that it was the very first time I encounter such a "TV dial" Dynamic and that it was in such a good shape.
Also, I had a chat with the 60 year old seller about when he bought the watch and about how the watch market looked like back then.. I guess that has also its weight on my perception of the value of the watch =)
