·For sale is a rare Omega Geneve Ref. 137.001 in 18k gold
The 18k gold monocoque case (marked on the lug) houses the Omega hand winding movement 602.
According to the Omega bible "A Journey through Time" (page 479) this Geneve is out of 1969 and this is the only Geneve series which was Chronometer certified. Cal. 602 is quoted as "rare" (page 785)
Fratellowatches wrote an article on this special reference which is quite interesting. It is mentioned that according to various sources only 4000 pieces of this Omegas Geneve Chronometer were produced.
Omega Geneve - A Rare Chronometer (fratellowatches.com)
The overall condition of the watch is pretty good (some light scratches on the case and on the glas)
Dial, crown and glas (with the Omega symbol) are original, the strap and buckle are not original.
The watch still holds the time as you expect from a chronometer (and this after more than 50 years). Eventhough I would suggest a service at your watchmaker as I do not know the service history.
As I am unable to open a frontloader (monocoque) I can`t provide pictures of the movement.
On the caseback you can see the original engraving: Waterproof - 137001 Tool 105"
The watch is situated in the European Union. Payment via PayPal is preferred.
Price: EUR 1.350 net
If you need further information or pics please let me know.
