    Hello Friends,

I am going to buy one omega automatic geneve watch with calibre 565. It is probably from the year 1972 or 74. It has original omega logo in its glass. Would like to get your expert advice based on it i shall either buy or discard. I am not a trader and would like to continue with it for self only.

    Thanks
    S Dhar

If it were me I'd wait for a better example to come around. This one looks to be quite polished with an (imo) unattractively patinated dial. These are fairly common and a good example can usually be gotten at a decent price. I like the applied Omega symbol version better too, the one in the old style.

The dial is horrid on the first watch. Pass. The bracelet's kind of interesting though.

What do you think about the second. It's a very different style/era to the first. Do you just want any old Omega? Seems like you might need to nail down your preference first.

Good advice. Lots of "I'm looking for a vintage Omega..." without any explanation why.

Search the internet like the rest of us do. Is that reply sufficient?

Sorry but that's not a reasonable request. There's are literally hundreds of models that fit that criteria and this forum isn't a vintage watch brokerage.

If you want to post pics of pieces you're considering, along with your thoughts, that's absolutely fine. Basically saying "hi, find me a watch", isn't.

I've deleted your other 5 duplicate threads because one is all you need. Please don't do that again, it's pointless to post the same question in 5 separate forum topics.

Take it to a watchmaker to get checked out, like you should do when you buy any vintage watch.

Get it serviced as any vintage watch you buy WILL need a service

It's a hell of a lot better than the two you showed ;)

You have the right forum but you have to listen to good advice.

You have to look at for sale adds as no one is going to find watches for you.

The watch I linked above is a good buy and the crown can be fixed when you get a service ( as vintage watches need a service if you just buy it )

If you're trying to buy a watch, you go to the Private Watch Sales section or the Watches For Sale section and if you see something you're interested in, send the seller a private message.
