🙄Your insistence that someone can’t enjoy something you don’t value astounds me. Your hubris in your opinion that gold capped or gold plated watches can’t be enjoyed because they aren’t steel is ridiculous! Most collectors start right where OP is and that is fine, and yes we are all always learning. I apologize if you feel insulted by my comments but by your own words, you have a lot to learn.

Err show me where I said any of that? You are indeed verging on being insulting and I am glad you recognise it. A little obtuse too.

I am guessing English isn't your first language since what we have here is a failure to communicate. I was talking purely and simply in price, not in terms of value to the owner, which is rather more esoteric, I do understand the difference. If your point was that yours is a very nice watch and you prefer that case to any other, then I agree, but you were answering a post about how plated is not the most valuable finish, it is not and I would be interested in your opinion where it ever is.

Are we clearer?

Want to see the favourite capped watch I own? Here it is, do I like it? Yes. Would I prefer it it was solid gold? Or Steel? Yes I would. Go figure.

Some gold plated watches are sought after more than others!😗

That's the reason why I wrote "usually".

The price is ridiculously low: about 350$

Not ridiculously low IMO if you consider that it is probably the least desirable style, category and time period of vintage Omega. So I would not suggest buying it because you think it is a bargain, it's not, especially if you ever need to have it serviced or repaired. However, if you like it and will enjoy owning it and don't mind the fact that it would be hard to sell in the future, then it seems fine. The watch looks totally legit.

The watch looks nice, the movement looks clean (and is an ever reliable 565) and I think the price is good.

I’m in the UK and I’d be hard put to find a watch as nice looking at that price.

I'm also a fan of the 165.041 & 166.041 and currently have three.

This one is actually on my wrist now.
