Not sure what’s going on here to make temperatures run so high, but I’m going to duck back out of this thread.

have fun folks.

Not sure what it is you are referring to. I'm just trying to clarify the differences here...

Mine went to Schweiz for a little spa treatment, I've posted it before but I think it could be a good reference for what it could look like when beeing made correctly 😀 the one on the bay is for me a 2k usd watch

Please don't - I don't think temperatures are running high at all - a lot of views are being shared, and it's very helpful.

"fresh"...well....

This is what I'm referring to.

You could have gone with "Oh looks like they'd had a gasket in stock for a while, the current one's are bright white".

We can argue about your intent, but from the receiving end, this came across as pure snark.

I have no wish to engage about this further.

@Stripey - I have nothing more to add. The flightmaster you posted is expensive, and it has been given a thorough "restoration" with a lot of service parts. You can do better for less. Many of us have.

Well, wasn't my intent to offend you. You held yours up as an example that a new gasket can also be discoloured like the watch in the OP. The gasket in the photo I posted above (that I installed last month) was made in the 24th week 2017 (these parts are all dated on the packages - you can actually make out the "17" in the last photo), and it's bright white. I have other gaskets in stock made of the same TEFZEL material that were made back in 2013 - still bright white.

I've never had a new gasket (one that I have purchased as a new part from Omega, regardless of how old it actually was) that was discoloured like the one you show. Here is the original gasket from the FM I recently serviced...

Fair enough Al.

I said "slightly yellow tinge"... the gasket in the OP watch looks closer in colour to the gasket you show above, than to the one that is currently fitted to my .036

STS returned all the old parts - which included a very dark yellow crystal gasket (similar to the one you show above), so I know it has been replaced, and I trust that it has been replaced with a new gasket.

Knowing how long Tony has been hoarding parts for, I'd take a punt on it being older than 2013... but who knows?

It passed the pressure test, I know they they didn't reuse the old gasket, I'm a happy bunny.

Thanks for sharing the pictures and the knowledge.
