·This one requires no introduction . . .
It’s a very nice example (very good-plus over-all condition) of the highly desirable early 1970s Omega Flightmaster multi-function manual-wind chronograph. It is all stainless steel, with the stainless steel Omega 1159 bracelet.
The serial number, 31636xxx, dates the watch to 1970 or 1971. Inside the case-back it reads: 145.026.
The dial and all the hands are superb and untouched; the crystal is fair to good, showing wear indicative of very moderate use.
The Omega Calibre 911 manual-wind 17 jewel movement is operating flawlessly, keeping excellent time, and with all chronograph functions working as they should. The inner 60-minute, elapsed-time bezel works fine, as does the independent, true GMT hand. The paint inside the ends of these buttons is mint.
The case shows wear as it should, and there is a scratch on the case-back where a case-back removal tool has slipped some time in the past forty-plus years. The Flightmaster logo on the case-back is still nice and clear.
Contributing to the original nature of this watch is the presence of the very rare original box and the illustrated instruction manual.
The watch is not perfect, and it shouldn’t be if it hasn’t been tarted up or restored. If you want one of the nicest unmolested Flightmasters extant, you’d be hard-pressed to do better.
$2799 plus actual carriage, or very near offer. I would like to sell this before the weekend.
No trades please.
Preferred forms of payment include a personal cheque, cashier's cheque, wire transfer, or money order. If payment is made by PayPal, 3% will be added for a US buyer, and 4% will be added for payment initiated in non-US funds.
