Hey guys, I was searching the local sales forms lately and this flightmaster with a Cal 910 popped up. I messaged the owner and asked for a few more pictures. He claims he has owned it for 4 years and has no record of service history. But the watch is in “mint original” shape. From my very basic knowledge It seems to be a redial to me. The 24 of the leftmost subdial is quite smudged. Do you guys see any other major issue with this? Possible a polished case? He is asking $5,500 which seems very high for a redial. There are no movement shots sadly.

He is quoting an article from wornandwound.com that states if it has the T SWISS T, you have an original dial. I believe it to maybe be the original, just repainted?

Any help and information would be greatly appreciated!

    Cheers!

That looks like a great Flightmaster. Not sure about the dial. Indeed the 24 is definitely off! And I am not sure about the bracelet. But it is way too expensive IMO anyway. There are quite some nice ones for sale, or otherwise they will pop up, for less. For less.

To me it looks absolutely desirable and original. Regarding the price, if the box is included in the set, might work - if watch only, def too high.

Out of interest how much value do you think a box in good condition adds to this deal?

I won’t put any value on it as it is specific to each potential buyer and everyone has (or should have) an own opinion about the value of a box and/or papers.

I would be ready to pay a significant premium for the correct box in the same condition as this watch.

Dial looks original and case looks to be unpolished as well. Caseback, hands and pushers are also in great condition, which suggests all the parts are original to the watch.

As for the price, it’s quite high given the current market conditions for FMs. A correct box is worth $500 for slightly below avg condition and $1K+ for very good/mint condition.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Thanks you for this link. There is some very useful information there that has taken away all doubts I had. I guess I was worried that the dial seemed to be in such great shape, almost "too good" to be true. Then when I saw the 24 smudge I was almost positive that it was repainted.

Unfortunatly no box or papers included with the watch, and he isn't willing to move much on the price either so i have decided to let this one go. Plenty of good condition flightmasters to be had!

Thanks everyone for their comments and help.

Just for my own curiosity - what do members here think would be a fair price for this watch?

I havent seen a 145.013 in this condition in a very long time.

There are a few very nice examples of quality flightmasters there. Thanks for the information JohnSteed!

I wasn't specifically on the search for one, but saw this example fairly close to home and it definiately peaked my interest.

    Cheers

I am in at $3500-$4000 if it has been serviced recently, does not have any grease/rubber seepage, and the case still retains some original finish.

Be careful out there. I put a wtb on another forum. Had a guy contact me with pics of a nice fully serviced cal910. Obvious service dial and hands. All I asked was if he had the original hands. He went on a rant about how awesome tha watch is and I shouldn't ask questions but just buy it. Lmao. I told him that is the difference between a 2k watch and a 4K watch. He called me an idiot and said he blocked me. These scammers get so angry when busted. Lol

Sometimes you come across certain once-in-a-lifetime opportunities that you simply can't let slip by.

I was fortunate enough to purchase this NOS 911 ST145-026 from the original owner a few years ago which has been in my collection since. It's never been worn, altered or sized. The original owner loved FM's so much that he purchased two, one for daily use, the other as a "spare" to be worn at some point later in his life.

As the story goes, the FM turned out to be quite a durable reference with the iconic 861 movement, so much so that the second watch never saw daylight and sat in his safe for over 40 years unused.

The watch also has an extract.
