    Hello folks,
I was given this watch about 20 years ago by my grandfather and wanted to know what model it is as i cant seem to find anything similar. Its not in the best condition but it still works :) 20170327_220529.jpg 20170327_220559.jpg

    Thanks

I did an internet search and found several that were similar. The best way to know the reference is to take the back off and search the numbers you see on the case back.

Nice watch. Appears to be ref 198.0003. It's solid 18k gold with gold dial, as evidenced by the "OM" designation. It contains a tuning fork movement developed and licensed by Bulova.

    Your grandfather had taste.
Excellent movement in those watches. Accurate to less than 1 second/day.
    It dates from 1970 - 72.
If you plan to keep it you should have it serviced by a specialist in these movement (not just any watchmaker as thy do not have the proper tools). I know a few people who can do a good job.

    Here's mine in steel.

So I would like to sell the watch but I dont have any idea what the value is? Would anyone be able to help or would I need to send it off for valuation?
    Sorry for being a newbie!

Just take really good photos and put it on ebay with no reserve and you will get market value
