Dear all,
I would like to know if everything is OK with this watch (unpolished vs polished, right dial, etc.)
Moreover, I would like to know if 440 euros could be its right price.
Many thanks!
Best
Francesco

IMHO it looks fine.
The most important is that the movement runs (often they are described as in need of a new battery.... but is defect) and runs good.
If that is okay the next big problem with them is the datewheel. It is made of plastic and over time the teeth wears of, or brake. This have to be tested before buying because these datewheels are not available (unless you are lucky on eBay, or get a new made non original metal replacement).
The way to test the date wheel is to run the hands all the way through all days in the month and see if all days change correct (do not use the quickset function).
If all off these things check out I think the price is okay, and it is in a nice condition.

I’ve seen a lot of hummers and very few are still in that condition. That is either very original or has had a high end professional refinish as many places wont do the cone models justice. I agree with everything mentioned above about the date wheel etc but for a watch in that condition which is running well I actually think the price is ok. Try finding another like that.

If running well the price, especially considering the exceptional brushed finishing, is fine. Some hummers are original still, I have several that are, but it is also possible the date wheel has been replaced with a new one. Regardless, it looks to be very good and IF working properly, very fairly priced. As Padders said, try finding another one

Hi ! Looks OK, but my recent experience is that you will need a service by a specialized watchmaker. That service is valued at 200 to 300.€
Ofcourse if the date wheel is working nicely all the way around the month and if the accuracy is in the region of 1sec/day deviation .. no need for the service !

As others have said, be careful. Don't pay the top end of pricing for a tuning fork watch that you can't prove had service. There is a multitude of things that can go wrong when they have not been serviced in a long time: coils, electronics, index mechanisms, etc. I suggest you just watch ebay for a few months. Look at average sold prices. Set your max bid lower than those averages (factoring in $200 to $300 in service) and you will at least know you aren't overpaying. Good luck!
