路Hello,
Wanted to share an little experiment. I know case refinishing is a touchy subject, but the case on this projectwatch had on the left side a scuff so deep that grabbed your skin . So I had to do something to make it wearable.
I wanted to recreate the sunburst finish on this model.
The solution I came up with was rather simple one: A paint stir stick with 240 gritt wet and dry sandpaper on the side, guided in the center between 2 slots. The case itself sits on a little turntable.
After every stroke with the sandpaper I turn the case a little.
For anyone giving it a try, replace your sandpaper frequently - after every few strokes the grain it produces becomes softer when it fills up.
This was never meant as a professional restoration, but the case became wearable again imo
