    Hi All,

I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on this watch but want to know if it's fake.
I know it's had some work but i can over look it if it's not a fake.

    What do you think?

Your link doesn't go to the listing, for me.

It appears to have been redialed and is fairly heavily polished. The relume is pretty terrible too.
    What is the asking price?

It's a genuine Omega, but may not be a genuine WWW.

From what you can see, is $1000 AUD a reasonable price?

Evaluating vintage pieces isn't very straightforward. Unless it is a common piece with a very well known established market behaviour, it is difficult to say just what it will be "worth". With a redialed piece like this, the collector value has mostly gone, sorry. That doesn't mean it is worthless, just that most collectors wouldn't want to look twice at it unless they were looking to buy it for some spare parts.

At best, you could ask people "would you buy it at $XXXX?" but that wouldn't mean that the market as such is of the same opinion. I wouldn't go near it, not for half of the asking price.

The case is likely a genuine Omega WWW case. The dial is refinished, the hands are incorrect as is the crown. In this state the only value here is for parts.
