I’ve inherited this Omega, I’m completely unsure on everything to do with it, authenticity, price, so forth. I know it’s called an Omega de Ville symbol. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to OF
You’ll need to post good sharp photos.
You can also compare it with ‘Sold’ listings on eBay and elsewhere.

A quirky piece of the late 1980s, it looks legit. They were indeed known as the Omega 'Symbol'. There are other versions inc those with Yin/Yang and Ankh shapes on the dial. I'm not quite sure what yours represents but is presumably similarly spiritual (well to someone anyhow).

These have a following but don't get your hopes up too much as their appeal is held back by the facts that they are quartz powered but also rather small to modern tastes at from memory ~32mm diameter at most. If it is running OK, think mid hundreds of USD, or less in GBP or Euros obviously.

Its the Omega Symbol Sun Watch, reference 196.0316, powered by a 1436 quartz movement.

its kind of a neat watch! It is authentic, yes. They are interesting, though I'm not sure they have much of a market. It is a bit small and unique but not particularly loved.

Assuming it runs/works perfectly, the value is going to depend on how quickly you wish to sell it. There is one on ebay that has been there a while at $900, so the value is probably lower than that (and C24 has a flawless looking one out of Germany for $1600, but it too has sat a while).

I personally wouldn't spend a dollar on it (as it is no interest to me), but I suspect if you listed it for ~$500 you could get that somewhat quickly?

There was a Yin Yang recently sold on a local watchforum for around 575 euro

Thank you, I know it’s 18ct gold and it has diamonds in the dial which I’ve not seen anywhere else. Thank you

Well not really. The bezel is 18K gold it is true but the rest is steel and gold plate AFAIK. The diamonds are worth next to nothing so don't scrap it thinking you'll get rich!

Thank you, any possibility it’s solid gold?
No. You've given detailed images. The caseback and case are 'acier inoxydable', i.e stainless steel. The bezel is 18kt gold.

The 1449/432 appears to be available is just 2 configurations - all stainless and 18k yellow gold/stainless. I do not see a plated option, so based on that I believe that the bracelet links that are gold are solid gold, and therefor are worth some money given the price of gold right now.

As noted, the bezel is solid 18k yellow gold.

The only plated part I see for this watch is the crown - yellow PVD.

By the way the watch reference for this particular model is 42307798.

Here you go @tobiasfarrow
Info from AJTT.
The blurb, whilst not definitive., certainly suggests that it is only SS and 18k gold.

Good news for the OP if so since there must be a fair bit of gold weight in those links. 2 things make me wary though, firstly the clasp is marked simply stainless steel and doesn't mention and gold (though with it being mixed metal maybe that is correct) and secondly a quick search on the bracelet number throws up hits where people describe it as plated (though of course they may have been mistaken to their cost).
