Omega De Ville Seamaster Originality?

Hi all,

Figured I'd post my recent acquisition to share. It (to my eyes) to be in good shape for a vintage watch. Biggest wear points look to be around the lugs. Going to replace the Speidel band with a dark green leather band. The dial looks original to my eyes, but I want to have more opinions.

What are your thoughts?

Dial looks OK IMO - the biggest drawback of this reference is the size, 31mm if I’m not mistaken and it wears quite small.

Thank you! I take it that a lot of the 1960's dress watches for men tend to be a bit smaller than the normal sizing range of today for watches.

Normal 60ies Omega dress watches are between 34 and 35 mm.

The small SMDVs (like the one you posted) are 31/32 mm

If the size is fine for you - no problem 😀

Lugs look Ok IMO

Is there a stain on the dial at 5?

You seem to have a ss crown also

There does indeed appear to be a stain near the 5 marker.

Are the small SMDV's any more rare than the regular sized 34/35 mm watches?

Thanks again!

I would estimate 80%+ are regular sized at 34/35

pitting can be seen on the right lug (from the crown picture).
Might be dirt but can also be damaged gold plating/layering

Give us an update when the watch comes in 😀 and don't forget to post watches here before buying 😉 (If you like)
