Omega crown search...

I'm currently getting a recently bought Constellation 14393 10 SC (gold capped) serviced. I would love to get hold of a suitable crown which it doesn't have but currently has a rather clunky steel unsigned one on. Decagonal would be great, scalloped even better and I don't really mind a clover leaf one even though they're not really Constellation crowns.

I think these are all hard to get hold of but if anyone could give me a lead, or even better, offer to sell me one, I would be so grateful.

Which rule are you referring to? I want a crown. Am I not allowed to inquire as to where one might be found? Or is it the selling bit? Be helpful to a comparative novice please...

Also, note that „having good luck finding one on eBay“ can easily include „…after only 3 month.“ Patience and persistence and eBay is your friend.

PMs are not included in the 200 posts you need to post a WTB in the corresponding thread. It’ll need to be posts in the public forum.

What does 'post' mean? If private conversations are included, I went past 200 ages ago!

Posts are in threads. Once you have 200, you can make a WTB thread in the appropriate place. If someone is selling something you want, you can contact them privately to buy it, 200 posts not required for that.

My mistake. Thought all messages were counted, not just on threads. Mea culpa!

I now understand. Having spent 9 months tracking down a decent watch, a few more months is no issue!

Bear in mind that original crowns were gold capped/gold filled

Modern replacements are plated and will look slightly different than gold finish on the case.

If you can find a vintage crown in good condition. Best try that first

Also. Lot of sellers on Ebay selling NOS crowns (new old stock), but not original. Just slightly older crowns, but still plated.

Yes, I've seen a few very shiny, immaculate crowns. They don't look a part of my watch so I hope to pick up an older one if I can. Thanks.

I wonder if the OP would be ok with a modern decagonal service crown. As you mentioned in your WTB listing, they are available on eBay.
I have been offered a deal on an older cloverleaf crown which, though unusual on a Connie, may fit better with a vintage watch. Don't know how much I should be worrying about leaky gaskets though. Ideal, of course, would be an authentic, vintage scalloped crown...but they're unavailable I'd imagine.

I am not sure if you are talking about my offer, but i offered you one decagonal or one cloverleaf crown for your choice. But you seem to be like a bit confused person, so i am not sure i am still willing to go through with this and rather keep them for myself.
Kind regards and good luck on your search!

Scalloped crowns show up occasionally if you are patient and willing to pay.
