I recently acquired this lovely piece. It appears that the "0" in the 10 o'clock marker was repainted. The rest of the dial appears untouched to my eyes. Now would this considered a refinished or redone dial? Also would this repainting of the number devalue the watch and if so by how much percent?
Will need a better focused picture but it looks to me that much more of the dial was retouched than just that one number.
It looks to me to be a complete refinish. One of the easier signs is to look at the subdial, which has the same grain as the rest of the dial and has "soft" edges. This subdial should be ribbed (wavey) and have sharp separation between the subdial and the rest of the dial.
The 8 and 10 seem to be a lot fatter than the 2 and the 4, I don't think Omega would do such shoddy work, as the others have said it seems to have had a bit more than the number 10 redone. Still, as long as you like it and didn't pay over the odds, then enjoy it
As mentioned here already - it's a complete refinish. Value is diminished by about 50% for this model. Here's an original in the same style for comparison:
Why do these seem to be so rare in this condition? Unlike ubiquitous Constellations...(not that I have anything against those)
The pushers on the side (to change moonphase, etc), makes water/moisture ingress increadibly easy. I practically treat mine as a safe queen:
Here is mine with original condition, I also agree with everyone that seem to be rare with this condition and still undervalue.
