Hi out there in Omega land. Anyone have some tips on how to spot a refinished Cosmic dial? There seem to be a lot of variations. Should they all say "Swiss Made" at the bottom. What about the orientation of the numbers on the chapter ring. I'm looking for telltale signs...thanks!

thanks! should the numerals be right-side up or reversed in the chapter ring? If anyone wants to post their genuine Cosmics, that would be great...

This one's a 2471, there are quite a few different dial variations for this ref.

And here a few more, from left to right 2471, 2486 and a 2606

I bought this from the original owner who is the Father of a friend of mine and didn’t doubt him (maybe I should have !) What points you to saying it’s a redial ? Thanks.

@Rasputin - I have the same question. What makes you say his is a redial? Lack of patina?

Although it can be due to camera angle, there appears to be variation in distance between the applied hour markers and their corresponding painted minute indices. The font of the painted blue dates aren't consistent with original examples (eg yours a flat top "3" vs rounded "3" on original dials). Of course the ultra clean dial for a watch that old does not support an original finish.
