Just serviced this watch, I inherited from my father. It is probably one of my most precious possession. Any thoughts or comments about model and condition would be appreciated.
Nice DeLuxe Piepan. Reference is written inside the caseback. Türler is/was a retailer in Zürich/Switzerland
The bottom of the lugs appear to be stainless steel, not gold. (Not to mention no hallmarks - which would normally be on the lugs.)
Watch was made around 1959-60. It is in excellent cosmetic condition. I believe it is gold-capped as you can see that the back of the case is steel and there are no gold hallmarks on the backs of the lugs. gatorcpa
I believe that it is gold plated, what I know is that the case is in stainless steel. And at the back the logo is gold while the plate is steel.
Just requested a search in Omega Archives. My father had also an Omega Seamaster from same period it went to my brother. I do not have the watch in my hands yet, will pick up from the shop this week end, and will post more pics.
Not a de luxe as it’s not got a gold dial (and it’s gold capped) Nice watch though, lovely dial, congrats.
Very nice. I have two Türler-signed Omega watches, a Constellation and a Seamaster, so obviously I like that feature. There's some debate about what (if any) value that adds to a watch, but I think Türler's logo harmonizes well with the other scripts on the dial. Türler's website purports that the company has branches in Tokyo and New York, but they seem to be so low-key that not even Google can find them.
Thanks all for your comments, just picked up the watch from watchmaker (Edwin from Watches of Switzerland in Kuala Lumpur) and here are a few more pics. Turler shop in Zurich still exists, it is more than 130 years old (they have celebrated their 130 anniversary in 2013). Still belong to the same family.
