Hi everyone,

Just another one of my post on opinions on this watch.

I have been in contact with the guy who is selling and everything to me looks legit. I’m about to buy this but just want to check out what your thoughts are on the dial?

I have agreed £850 for this which I think is fair, is that fair?

I am a little dubious on the dial, I have no experience on pie pan dials.

Can you let me know if this is indeed original?

Thanks

This looks like one of those examples redialed to look like a pie pan. I would expect to see sharper/distinct edges.

Road hard and put up wet many, many times......condition throughout is poor, screw heads are all damaged from amateur techs.

Pix are all poor for a reason.

Even with poor pictures dial looks terrible. Minute markers bobbing around the dial, crosshair too thick. And movement looks worse. Hard pass.

On top of everything the swan neck has broken off. Avoid.

simply a two-tone pie pan dial with heavy patination.

The pics are atrocious but I’m not sure I see anything wrong with the dial.
Better pics would allow a fuller assessment.

The case is not bad but I don’t find the watch attractive because of the dial.

@Zaccardelli1994
Could download pics and then post them rather than grabbing screen shots.
It’s impossible to give accurate assessments of the watches you post with this quality of image.

The 167.005 you’ve posted is very heavily polished.

Still not brilliant pics @Zaccardelli1994 - but a bit better
I still think the dial is okay.
Some of the dials around this period did display thick fonts - possibly a factor of the degradation of the dial or a particular dial maker.

I would still pass on the watch though.

BTW - it also has an incorrect 'fat' crown that belongs to earlier references.
