A stainless steel Connie from the 60’s on a leather strap would have been around £50 give or take a pound or two.

Somebody around here has catalog scans. They don't share them without pictures of the watch in question though.

I think he's correct. For some reason, I remember £55 in a British catalog from 1962-ish, and over £200 (£225-ish?) for a solid gold version. However, I'm getting old and my brain isn't what it used to be.

The one you picture would be lucky to fetch $1000 because of the poor dial condition.

However, a nice specimen would easily pull $1100, and an excellent one could rake in $1500+.

Well it depends on condition - i doubt yours will get anywhere newr your top estimate, and dial is in poor condition and your hands are all wrong

Funny, I have the twin of your Constellation :D

I'd say that $1000 is highly optimistic given the patina, wrong hands and service crown. Mine is not without its issues, but was a good deal cheaper.

Does Omega actually have 60+ years old correct dials and hands laying around in factory? Really??
So, even if it's showing its age. New parts take away the magic. It only needs gentle touch from a master restorer. Nothing too much, just little refreshment and it looks better.

Well the dial on this watch is in sad state unfortunately. The owner didnt take much care of the watch. So in this case its better to get the watch in the original state when it was shipped out of the factory at least thats what i want.

    I get it.
But does Omega really have those old dials in their drawers?

Btw do you think it would be a problem for Omega to repaint the dial ?

    Yes. It is.

They don't have old dials, nor have they the correct crowns either. They will use a third party redialing service, if memory serves me, and the results aren't that good. Do some searches on here and you'll quickly be dissuaded from sending anything vintage to Omega for service or repairs.

Oh that makes no sense for them not to repaint it correctly, since they have everything necessary for them to do it right. When are they the company that made the watch in the first place.Well i hope they find NOS one, because it would be much cheaper :D than to have to redone completely :/

    ..?

They don't have any stock lying around, loads of repainted dials coming back from Omega attests to this. Also, what makes you think that a NOS dial would be cheaper? And no, they don't have all the old tools to reproduce old dials, sadly :(
