Omega Constellation Pie Pan authenticity

Hi everyone.

I'm new to vintage watches but have fallen in love with the Omega Constellation Pie Pan and have since been on the lookout. Man, it's a beauty! I found this one which I like (Calibre 551), and before I let them take my money I would like to seek your opinions on its authenticity.

Going with what little I know from reading up and trawling for photos online, this looks legit though I suspect it is a redial (seller says it is a 1960s model, they cannot say for sure if the previous owner had restored it, but the seller has not done anything to it and the condition as you see in the photos is as he bought it).

I thought the kerning on the font looked a bit iffy but can't be sure.

The 12 o'clock marker also looks a bit wonky in the first photo but could be the glare/light, it looks OK in the rest of the shots.

I have asked for photos of the case back and rotor (waiting for these).

What do you think? Any red flags? Thanking you in advance!

UPDATE: Here are two more photos from the seller (movement and case back). I feel the engraving on the movement is not as sharp as it should be. But like Jon Snow, I know nothing, so it would be great to hear from you.

It’s real and dial is not redone. Watch is not pristine but is in acceptable condition for it’s age. Markers may have been removed then reapplied after cleaning.
However you need to see pictures of the movement before deciding to purchase.

welcome to OF. piepan is a very collectible vintage omega if having all correct parts in order, like the sharp lines of the embossed dial. since this is presumably coming from an unnamed seller, may i carefully advise you to stay away from that watch. it's good to be posting here seeking an honest opinions so you will develop that eagleeye to examine closely the watch, as part of your diligence. pursue other similar watch though if you love the piepan.

What does that mean???

I can see nothing wrong with this watch except for the wrong crown.

Funny. At first glance nothing wrong with this dial. But how about that script? Maybe the angle but it looks a bit off. Maybe it's just paranoia

Well. Despite my paranoia (I had also some problems with the 'n's') i do think original. For what it's worth...😁

I thought so too. Also, to my naked eye the 'Constellation' script doesn't align perfectly on the bottom, but that could be paranoia too. I will try to go check out the watch in person. Thank @Shabbaz and everyone for your comments and insight - very helpful indeed!

Was this type of crown the type omega would choose to replace during service?

Thank you for the validation. I've decided to pass on this, thanks largely to all of you for your input which is much appreciated! The search goes on!
