Omega Constellation - newbie looking for info

While I am not new to watches, I have never owned a vintage Omega and after recently acquiring one, I am trying to find out more about it and what it might be worth. It is a constellation in a stainless steel case with a gold observatory on the back. The movement is a calibre 501. The watch is in running condition. The case number is 2852 4 SC. The movement is numbered in the 14,881,xxx range. I have done some searching on the internet and prices seem to be all over the place. Can anyone tell me more about this watch and an estimate of what would be a fair price for it?

all I think I can say based on the photos above is that the movement looks ok, I think the lugs look thin from the back, but the dial has some dial warts and I suspect its going to get worse. Need a decent photo of the front to tell much more. Dial alone would kill this one for me.

I agree with your thoughts on the dial. Was this a common occurrence on Omega's of this era, or due to moisture getting in? Attached are some additional photos. Thanks.

I'd suggest $600-$900? The dial obviously is the issue. Cleaned up, it would be $1000ish?

Can't really clean up the dial, I would leave it as is so there is no risk in damaging it. It would probably sell for $650-800ish on ebay.

So, what's wrong with a few well earned spots? My Constellation shows the Big Dipper.

Well, you have to down two shots real quick, first, but that Big Dipper really POPS shortly thereafter. Trust me.
