To my eyes the dial has new generation Constellation lettering (isn't that a straight n at the end ) Lume dots appear a little haphazard too, and so without a larger picture on which to make considered evaluation, I think it's risky . The Constellation lettering was not changed until the very late 168.029 cal 751 models and so I'm calling this one a redial at least.
Hmm.. The redialing doesn't really bother me as long as it's authentic. After doing some homework I see that even the later models had a curved n as well. I find that the Connie in this link is the closest to the one I'm thinking of buying: http://www.poshtime.com/vintagewatch.php?id=497.119&string=Omega Constellation
I'm not sure what sort of price you're looking at but if you don't mind can I give you another option? I've never dealt with this seller but I just purchased (4) NOS Eterna's from this seller earlier this evening (I'm in NYC and he's in Hong Kong…at least I think/hope he's in HK hahaha) The watch you posted looks really good but I think this one might be a little better so if it's the same price or better it's another option. I was considering buying it but I purchased the Eterna's instead. As you can see, I'm very focused…UGH Good luck with your hunt! http://www.ebay.com/itm/OMEGA-Const...956755623?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item46126ba6a7Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
hahaha now that I'm looking at it a little closer,,,I'm wondering if the watch I posted is good? This is why I'm so loathe to recommend anything when it comes to Omega - I'm still learning myself. Rolex, I'm good on; Omega, not so much. Calling all real Omega experts! help!!
Yes, it a cal 1011 version, looking okay but pics are small and not big enough to detect much in the way of imperfections. The movement and dial check out. The cal 564 versions are more collectible, and $680.00 is a lot for a well-travelled 168.0056. Cheers Desmond
The cal 564 is the one with the 'Constellation' at the bottom of the face? Also the plate of the movement isn't just a half circle, it's more of a blade. Correct me if I'm wrong. Please inform me of the correct terms for these parts. Mondo, I actually sent you an email as well.. Didn't realize it was you until today! Your blogspot is expansive in knowledge, wow.
