Hi gents I posted on here a few weeks back about looking for a watch for my dad, so just got round to looking on a website a friend recommended to me. Wondering what you guys thought about it. Just looking for some info, if it's worth what the guy wants and ant info people have about it I'm unsure on this style case they look different to what I have seen is it genuine??

The seller is Fine Watch Club from Norwich, an online dealer with a somewhat unwelcoming shop. I think his watches are genuine but perhaps overpriced. If you go direct to his website you might find the same watch cheaper, or he may be willing to drop the price a little as he will save on fees if you buy it direct from him. I suspect he sells some good redials and refurbs as well as pukka examples. Others here will be able to give you a better view on this one, but you'd be wise to post pictures, not a link.

I also bought my first Omega from Fine Watch Club and while I like the watch very much, if I knew then what I know now I probably would have waited. Then again, I wanted a watch, didn't want to wait, and it's only since buying it that my interest in watches has developed.

It is a good looking Constellation, but quite expensive and the sales text is extremely off-putting. Saying that the (wrong, btw) Constellation box is worth hundreds of $/€ is a blatant lie for one thing. The movement pictures were taken in a night club going by the lighting and the "recently serviced" watch hasn't got a caseback gasket... 🤦🤦🤦

The watch may be okay, but the seller is not one I'd recommend from that listing alone.

I read the full description and have a problem with the word "classy" since a couple of hours.

Subjective descriptive words like that are just sales patter. That doesn't worry me and I suspect most people ignore them. The sort of thing that ConElPueblo points out is more concerning, while meaningless phrases like "solid gold cap" seriously puts the seller's credibility at risk.

Links die making the thread less useful in time.

Nope. Just copy the pics in your post. It's easy to do and helps us now and those who'll come later on.

It’s an nice enough watch.
Nice dial.
but lugs are a little soft for my liking. (Even accounting for gold cap)
BOR bracelet is a bonus.
Box could be correct depending on when the watch was retailed (as opposed to manufactured - but agree with @ConElPueblo about the value)
Nice to have the hidden crown.
Crystal a generic replacement.

however, even allowing for BOR, box, retail prices and a proper service, still rather expensive.

How do you like the prominent edges on the pie pan dial? To me it is a bit weird given that it is a .004.

I hear what you’re saying but as the outer is painted and it hasn’t really got an ‘edge’ like the later pie pans, it’s more in the style of the .004 than say the .010.
