I picked one of these up about a year ago, and it is almost ready for the restoration treatment. The watch has a gold cap and the serial is a tick over 18 million, which dates the production to 1961. Inside the case-back is 14393 10 SC. I have found the exact same watch with a serial just under 18 million on the auction site, and its case-back reads 14393 7 SC. Does anyone know the significance of the center digits, 10 on my watch and 7 on the older one? I am curious. Thank you.
It doesn't look like much now, but under the poor crystal is a pretty good dial. I've scheduled this one right after the Rolex that's next in line . . .
Just needs a new crystal and a crown ( and a service no doubt) What is that thing masquerading as a crown? Edit And some 'black stuff' in the hands Has the second hand been replaced? Looks a bit new
The watch is 55 years old, and I have had it for a little over a year. I do not know the history of the second hand, but the one on my watch looks just like the one on the watch on the auction site . . .
