The rotor rotates - no need to take it off.

Look at the pics of @iamvr ’s watch movt above - the serial on his is on the movt at the opposite end of the bridge from the cal reference.

Yes - I've looked a number of times but can't see anything. I'm taking it to an Omega specialist next week - will let you know.

Thanks for your help.

Here’s mine with rose gold hardware and a black waffle dial that has gone a bit chocolate. Almost too nice to wear and too special not to.

You haven't seen enough Toni and I am sorry that I don't have time to dig out things to show you....
Is anyone from this discussion still around? I have an Omega Pie-Pan Constellation with 2887-2 SC. Sadly can't find the serial number. I'd like to know more about it. Probably circa 1950's - 1964 - not used since then.

The serial number is under the rotor, the rotor spins around the shaft in the center, if you tilt the watch or move the rotor such that it uncovers the other part of the movement, you’ll see the serial number engraved on the movement plate

Thank you. Can any watch maker find that or does it need to be an Omega specialist watch maker?

Any competent watchmaker can do it and so can you if you have the proper tool for removing the case back. It’s not difficult.

Should be marked in this location.
