Does anyone have any advice on helping me sort my watch out. It's in excellent condition with a superb original dial and it gains just 7 seconds per day. I was just about to sell it when I noticed under a magnifier, that some idiot has polished the gold capped lugs so much that a couple have actually worn through to the stainless steel. This is invisible to the naked eye but I can't sell it like this. The serial number is 17071515 and the case no. is 2943. Ideally I'd like another used case and it doesn't matter if it's all gold, gold capped or all stainless steel. Thanks.

 

Why not simply disclose the issue and sell it as it is?

You could always search eBay for a suitable replacement, but I doubt you'd get the investment back.

 

Yes I think you just simply sell it "as is". To restore this case is possible but it will cost a lot.

 

Yes, I thought about that but wondered if anyone would be interested in it as it is. I suppose that's what I'll do eventually. It's really peeved me.... I've had the watch for over 3 years and have only just discovered this damage. I have looked on ebay and will continue to look, no luck so far. The really annoying part is that without this damage this watch would be one of the best cal 504 "calendar" watches out there, it is otherwise virtually unmarked and the dial is superb and original. If anyone sees a suitable case please post on this forum. Thanks

I think it will be extremely difficult to find a loose 2943 case in good condition, bordering on as good as impossible.

I don't remember ever seeing one for sale, so I also would advise to sell as is.
