·Hello fellow crazy people,
I‘m continuing to clear out the watch drawer and part with a couple of pieces that I don’t get to wear regularly. Figured I’d rather do it as long as I have the courage. 😉
For sale here is a gold-capped Omega Constellation Calendar 14393 with a railtrack dial configuration on a gold Omega beads of rice bracelet:
The Watch
Omega Constellation Calendar “Railtrack Dial”
Reference: 14393
Movement: cal. 561 automatic
Serial: 17212927
Year: 1959-1960
Case: 34mm gold-capped on stainless steel
Dial: depending on the light, silver/champagne with a rail track minute, brushed silver-colored outer ring and a vertically brushed, creme-colored inner circle, gold indices and date window.
Strap/bracelet: Omega 8270 gold-plated Beads of Rice with 70 end links and a genuine brown lizard strap.
Price: 1350€
Condition
Dial & Hands: Original dial, not refinished in any way. Overall very good condition, please note some color missing right at the date window and a minute little dot at 9. Hands are in very good condition with nicely aged lume, can’t spot any corrosion.
Case: Original 34mm gold-cap on stainless steel in very good condition, can’t really spot significant wear at all. Gold-cap is completely intact. Constellation medallion is crisp and displays all 8 stars, as it should. Slight marks on the case back from opening attempts is the worst I can find on the whole watch.
Crown: Original Omega crown which I believe is correct for the ref. Crown shows significant wear, gold-plating has worn of on the top of it. It’s less notable due to the bi-color case. Omega-logo still clearly visible.
Crystal: Generic crystal in very good condition.
Movement: Original cal. 561 automatic in clean condition, no rotor wear. It starts quickly, runs and sets and keeps the time well, service history is unknown, though. Serial dates the watch to about 1959-1960.
Bracelet + strap: Original Omega 8270 bracelet with 70 endlinks. Gold-plating in good condition, the only notable wear I can find is some rub-off where the clasp is opened with the finger, near the Omega logo. Length is very good, it fits my 19cm wrist and there are 4 holes left to make it even larger on the clasp. Endlinks have a little play on the watch, but don’t significantly rub between the lugs. I’m also happy to include a genuine brown lizard strap that suits the watch very well - I could never decide between the two.

Plenty reviews available here, but either my username is too short to use the search function for that or I’m not handling the forum software eloquently enough, which is entirely possible. Anyway:
