MtV
·Good evening,
apparently, one does not need more than one C-shape Connie, or so I was told at home. 😁 Consequently, this one may leave me.
It’s a 70s Omega Constellation „C-shape“ DayDate, cal. 1021 with an 18k white gold bezel and the correct Omega bracelet. One of the last C-shape refs produced, this is from what Desmond called the „New Era“, including a more modern script on the dial. If you haven’t yet, do check out his glorious essay on, I quote, „one of the design triumphs of the Constellation family“.

The Watch
Omega Constellation
Reference: 168.0064
Movement: cal. 1021 automatic chronometer, day and date complication (+ quickset), hacking second
Serial: 37367881
Year: 1974
Case: 34mm stainless steel
Dial: silver, applied Omega logo
Bracelet: Omega 1040/593
Price: 770€
Condition
Dial & Hands: Original dial, not refinished in any way. Very good condition, minute spots (dust?) visible in certain angles/light. Hands and indices in very good condition, lume intact, day- and date-disc are clean.
Case: Original 34mm stainless steel case in very sharp condition. The original brushing on the top and the sides of the case are fully intact, as is the original polished chamfer that seperates them. Lugs are also sharp and fully intact. Hardly any scratches, most notably one in the top left corner that, again, is not deep and only visible in a certain angle. Case back shows a crisp medallion, original brushing.
Crown: Original Omega crown which I believe is correct for the ref. Omega-logo on the crown clearly visible.
Crystal: I believe it’s a generic crystal, condition is very good.
Movement: Original cal. 1021 automatic chronometer in clean condition. It starts quickly, runs well, sets smoothly, keeps good time. Service history is unknown, though. Serial dates the watch to 1974. Day and date jump over crisply and the quickset for both works a treat.
Bracelet: Stainless steel Omega 1040/593 has some scratches, but remains in good condition. Hardly any stretch, clasp closes firmly. It’s good for a ca. 18,5cm wrist. If that’s close for you please do ask and I’ll be happy to measure again. I might also have 1-2 extra links. It’s one of the two correct bracelets for this ref. Note that the design of the case was altered slightly, compared to earlier C-shapes – the 593 endlinks are the ones fitting the case perfectly.

Plenty reviews available here, but either my username is too short to use the search function for that or I’m not handling the forum software eloquently enough, which is entirely possible. Anyway:
