Hi everyone!

I am currently bidding on this watch and I wondered about a few things.

- is the magnification on the face original?
- the seller has stated they have sources a NOS case for this watch and will provide the original. Is this case authentic on first sight?
- overall condition is good, but possibly to good?
- do you think this is worth £750?
- are the thin black hands original to the day date linen dial?
- do you think the dial has been refinished?
- is the crown original? (Looks off to me)

Thank you in advance
Jordan

The questions are a lot, but what are your opinions?

I feel a strange want for the watch. Love the dial etc but I am unsure about the case replacement with NOS and the crown gives me the fear

I’m no expert but I have been looking at a lot of these lately. This looks good to me. Omega logo is on the crystal and the magnifiers are common. Black stick hands common. Case looks great as you know it’s been replaced. Serial number dates it to early ‘69 and still has curly “N”s which is right. Passes MOY. I’ve seen some pretty clean examples so I wouldn’t say it looks “too good”. Price sounds right. Sorry I don’t know about the crown. I’ve seen different types of crowns on C-cases and I haven’t sorted through what’s right for what yet.

Thank you for having a look for me I am almost ready to purchase, am I right in saying that’s a white gold bezel?

Sorry I’m not sure about that. I’ve read the stainless ones can tend to show rust. That one looks pretty clean. I don’t know how to tell otherwise.

The coined Bezel is white gold.
Looks good to me, although the crown looks a bit big, I'm not sure that's correct.

These c cased connies have recently reduced in price (see the vintage Omega on ebay thread, one recently sold ~£475 with bracelet, albeit that one has a different Bezel and dial to yours). I bought a similar one to this last year for around £750, but it did come with a bracelet, which is probably worth £150-200. You might try negotiating a lower price on a strap.

Dose anyone have knowledge on the crown?
It looks wide in the pictures, but it may just be pulled out?? (and that's making it look wider?).. I'm not sure.
Mine for comparison... I'll send a side- on photo when I get home tonight.

@kaplan may be able to answer...

The crown definitely looks like it’s pulled out in the pictures. Good point as well about the bracelet. I neglected that. I’d want a bracelet for this price. The one that sold low in the other thread I think is because it had a damaged dial and disclosed movement issue.

@Aroxx yes, that's true actually... the low price of £475 was for a watch 'with issues' and a higher price maybe justified for the OP's watch.

So my crown looks a bit different. It is more profiled with bevelled edge and smaller omega logo. Although mine may also not be correct of course(!). We need some kind of gold standard to compare.

I will say that if you buy, check with the seller that the crown does push in fully to the winding position. it should sit in a recess in the case (see below). This movement doesn't hack, so there's no reason to take photos with the crown pulled out... I'd be a bit suspicious there may be a problem with the crown, or the winding stem hasn't been adjusted right. A new crown and/or winding stem adjustment is a simple fix for a watchmaker, no big deal.

Crown looks like an original yet not original to this model

However I think the main issue with this watch would likely be the dial up close, pretty low chance that's a clean dial, I'd move on

What do you think is wrong with the dial exactly? Trying to learn.

Blue is probably a blemish, under the SWISS MADE
Red could be discoloration
Purple in general is a lack of definition, indices could be stained or damaged as well, but it’s just hard to make out

I think that the crown is for a .023 or similar. The ken's crown is original.

The crown on mine is also this style, with bevel and small logo

Interesting, I have asked the seller about the crown but I have also found out the watch comes with the original case

I find this case condition very collectable, even lower conditions collectable - if you wear the watch for a year, it'll degrade to this condition anyway, maybe even worse

Your only worry should be the dial, you can buy the original crown even from eBay

Sorry slightly confused, do you find the watch collectible in its current condition - you think it’s in good condition.. Or do you feel the watch is not in good condition?
