    Hi all,

I have a chance to buy this 18k arrowhead piepan but want to run through the community to see if there's anything amiss.

As far as I see, everything seems good. But would love any comments if anyone have any.

    Is it a 2782, powered by a 354?

Looks original to me but I would check the dial feet before buying.

Interesting. What makes you say that? I don't recall anyone recommending that before.

Normally, this dial goes with 2852/501_505
    IMG_20190121_160841.jpg

and OP's dial goes on 2782/354.
There are some exceptions that dial also goes on a 2852.
But when you buy a 18k solid gold watch, some money involves and I just want to make sure the correct dial feet are there, not dial stickers.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, the only difference I see in your picture and mine is the text location of 'Swiss made'. Anything else I missed out?

Also, What is the correct dial feet I should look out for?

The M in CHRONOMETRE and the edges of the pie pan.

You should look for the dial feet if they are still there and they fit on the movement correctly .

It is Dome Dial, not a Piepan.

Certainly. I'm actually inclined towards the constellation design which @hoipolloi posted earlier. However, it's so hard to chance upon one these days in good condition of course.

Thinking whether I should pass this one out although the nice condition, plus the box and paper included makes me want to pull the trigger.

If I buy a 18k gold case, I would like to have a 18k de luxe dial with mirror finish to go with it.

I’m with @bikehomero on this one.
I think we have to be consistent in what is advised on the forum.
The OP’s watch is most definitely a dome dial, a pie pan has 12 distinct faceted panels - which has often been repeated in other threads.
The Naligazone link shows a detailed example of a standard dome dial and describes it as a de-luxe pie pan and then also has an small inset picture of a true pie pan.

That aside, Hoi’s knowledge never fails to amaze and the advice on the dial of the OP’s watch is still of great value.

To me, any dial that has two parts, the inner center and the outer circle that I can see clearly , I call it a pie pan dial.

The dome dial looks like this with minute markers at the rim going with long minute hand.
