Beautiful heirloom left by your late father! Good luck with servicing and wearing / selling it.

Unfortunately I live in Germany and know no watchmaker in NYC but there are certainly many members here who could help you with that info.

Cheers!

Well - I just found another watch - which I remember my dad wearing a few times as a kid and then it disappeared. What I know is that it is gold and the original strap for the watch was leather - pic attached, Also have the original box it came in. Please see pictures - same help needed for model and estimated value. I just want to thank everyone for all the help I have received so far from the Forum!

And was consistent in his taste 馃榾
I love these early 70s iterations of the Constellation.

Any idea why he bought 4 watches in a very short space of time ( late 60s to early 70s), and 3 of those watches were almost identical in style (the 3 C-cased connies that you have - 2 x stainless steel and now the 18k gold one)

seems very strange behaviour, especially as none of them seem to have been worn very hard?

Or were these gifts, or given to your dad to pay off debts or something?

Well, there is an additional Omega Watch (pictured below) which he wore everyday - So he had 5 (that i know of) in total. Who knows what my dad was thinking. He seemed to like Omega and my guess is that he bought the cheaper versions first and then graduated up to the more expensive ones and then just stopped when he got the gold one. He probably thought that since they all look the same - why wear the others and he just put them away for 50 years. (I am very curious to see if I find anymore. LOL)

Do you know where he bought the watches? Was it in the same store?

Again, thats in the exact same time period - and another Cal 751 movement. I have one identical to this - ref ST 168.045 - the first watch EVER with an integrated bracelet

I am thinking he bought a few in the US but the gold one and the turler where probably bought in Switzerland, as at the time it was illegal to buy gold in the US.

My brother and myself were born around this time - so maybe he bought them with us in mind. Otherwise I really do not know.

Yes it is 18K. It is a very solid bracelet not light at all.

An update on my father's old watch collection. I had his daily watch restored and got it back just in time for Christmas. I have been wearing it and must say I do love the way the watch looks on the wrist. Here are the before and after pics.

This is the last watch that he had. This one included all the boxes and original paperwork and was purchased in 1972 from Turler & Co. in Switzerland. Amazingly this one still runs after almost 50 years of just sitting in storage. I believe that this one was also never worn. Pricing on this one would be greatly appreciated.

That one is so beautiful! Dips! 馃槜

Great outcome! Those chunky cases from the 1970s have real wrist presence, and can wear very modern as a result. And a fine watch to have as a daily wearer for yourself.
