Hi everyone,

I recently acquired this Omega Constellation ref. 2852-10 SC and would appreciate some opinions from experienced vintage Omega collectors regarding the originality/correctness of the dial and overall configuration.

Details:
  • Ref. 2852-10 SC
  • Black waffle / honeycomb crosshair dial
  • Rose-tone hands, arrowhead indices, applied logo and star
  • Cal. 505
  • Rose gold capped configuration

I’ve attached dial macros, movement, inside caseback, and side profile shots under different lighting.

I’m particularly interested in opinions on:
  • Dial originality (factory/original vs refinished/restored)
  • Printing and texture
  • Hands/indices correctness
  • Whether the overall configuration looks period-correct

I understand black vintage Omega dials can age inconsistently, so I’d really appreciate objective and honest opinions from members more experienced than myself.

Thanks in advance.

My guess is it’s original but it’s seen some life and likely someone’s cleaned the dial which is why the text so difficult to read

Thank you, I appreciate the input.
That was one of my thoughts as well: possibly an original dial that has simply aged hard and/or been cleaned at some point, which may explain the weakened text.

I think this dial is original. However, due to use and repeated cleaning, the minute markers have faded, and the “Swiss Made” text at the 6 o’clock position is no longer visible

Original dial for sure, but very faded for whatever reason. Original hands. Service/later crown. Movement looks nice and clean. The case is only OK, it has seen some polishing. However this is a rare combination of rose/steel/black waffle, so it certainly has that going for it!

Thank you very much Mr. Huy, for taking the time to carefully look at it and share your perspective.

I’m also leaning toward the dial being original but having gone through aging and possibly some cleaning over the years, especially for a deep vintage black dial like this. Your opinion genuinely gives me more confidence, and I truly appreciate it 🙏

Thank you very much for taking the time to review it and for the detailed feedback, I really appreciate it.

Very helpful to hear your thoughts regarding the dial, hands, crown, and overall configuration. I agree this rose/steel/black waffle combination seems to be quite an uncommon one, which makes it particularly interesting despite the obvious aging and wear.

Thanks again for sharing your expertise.
