Hi

I'm contemplating bidding on this Constellation. But I'd appreciate the advice from the experts. I've spotted that the dial isn't pristine, and the case looks to be over polished maybe? Especially the case back. It would be great to know an approximate value assessment.

Thanks in advance, Anders

Case is incredibly poor. Box and papers are nice but only with a nice watch imo. They add minimal value on a crappy watch.

What range range are you thinking based on research of sold prices?

I was contemplating bidding up to around €2.000 because the watches I've seen for sale in Denmark have been priced €3.000 or higher. But my concern was also the case. I'll probably pass, thanks!

Agree with @Davidt; please pass on this. And just wait. With the budget you’ve got in mind, there’s much better options appearing every now and then. @Anders69; good luck hunting. It’s worth the wait!

This is really a watch where I wouldn't even bid €500-€600 for it unless I had a spare case in excellent shape lying around. The case is just too far gone to wear with any kind of enjoyment.

So yeah, €2000 would be way, way too high for this one!

Terrible condition. The case isn't just over polished, it's is worn through to the base metal in at least one spot. As far as price, I think you may be comparing to solid gold watches, this one is just gold-capped. Even in pristine condition it wouldn't be worth 2k Euro, IMO.

There was a similar Constellation in the private seller's forum recently. I think it sold, but you should look out there.

You can pick up a nice constellation for below €1500 in Japan, but with VAT it puts you around €2000. Though there are many examples to pick from.

DM me if you want to speak further. I am going to Japan in Jan 😉

I think if you buy in Japan you may also get a local sales tax refund as well, and of course the Yen is quite low at the moment.

If you import vis post into Europe then its VAT, and you have to pay. If you buy in person in Japan the sales tax is 10% and yes you might get a refund.

Ah yes, sorry I meant shopping in person in Japan.
