I want to purchase this watch. But I haven’t seen any other vintage constellations with these hands? Is this original? The dealer claims everything is original when I contacted them thru chrono24. They want $2200 for it. Does the watch look original? I am obsessed with this exact style and the condition of the watch looks great. I’d get a new Omega but I prefer the smooth bezel and the new ones have the ridges on it. Newbie to the site and Omegas. Thanks

Hello Collin, welcome to the forum.
Good taste to go for the pie pan constellation and that too with the dogleg lugs.
I too feel the hands are not original to the watch. The minute hand over shoots the minute markers and looks odd. The crown is not original to the watch either and though fairly easily corrected it’s one of the key likeable features in this model.
Regarding condition I agree with you that the dial looks in good condition from the photo provided. Better photo is required for a critical assessment and this is key. But the case looks over polished and that is a major downer.
Plz read the vintage omega posting guide to be able to post better pictures and get opinions from experts.
Also since you are obsessed with this style. Research this style extensively in the forum. You will be able to better assess the condition and may be even refine your preference. Research is half the fun of collecting/ hunting down “the one “. So fun that it often turns into a rabbit hole.
The asking price is atleast high by 500 dollars if not 1000 in my opinion. Seems like you have a solid budget for a constellation. You can definitely get a better one.
All the best.
Paul

wrong hands, wrong crown and redial IMO. Not worth for even half the price

Not a good example, in fact one could argue that it is poor. These come up here on OF Private Sales quite commonly.

If you fish in the murky waters of EB and Chrono you will more likely catch a catfish, if you look in more productive waters of OF you more likely find a trophy.

I think a couple FS now, from trusted OF collectors/sellers you might do better to take your time and wait for a good one, at a better price.
Search OF with this ref number and look at all the photos and discussion you will learn a lot and be able to identify a good example.
