I am hoping to purchase this 168.005. I cant see it in person and I wanted to make sure Im not missing anything. It would be my first Omega and Ive been searching for a good quality one for a while. Buyer is asking $3000
I don't see anything concerning, it looks like a reasonably sharp case, a good looking dial, and a clean movement. I think 3k is on the high end, particularly for a gold ?capped?(not solid) case.
If the lugs are all the same as the bottom right then it is a much better than reasonably sharp case.
It is a handsome late 60s watch - the dial looks very good but be aware that it has painted indices not onyx inserts and these are less collectible than the earlier versions.
Personally, I can’t get my head around the current pricing of dogleg pie pans - not too long ago this would have been $1500 watch and 3k would buy you solid gold.
However, the market is what it is and if you can’t find another then you have to pay the market rate.
(I still think this one is overpriced)
It's priced a bit on the high side, but the case and dial are in really nice shape. Depending on how fussy you are about getting the exact combination of case and dial, it may take a while to find another in this condition. Competition to buy the nice ones is high.
