    Hi all,

I mentioned this in another thread but I think it just got buried. Hoping to get your opinions before this watch ships to me tomorrow.

With your help I purchased a 1966 constellation 167.005 for $1400. In attempting to do all possible due diligence, I came across a couple of articles on fake constellation cases out of China, with one identifier being that the inside caseback perlage and model identifier etching on the fakes is more crude than on the originals. Attached are a couple of photos of the caseback on the watch I have purchased; if anyone has time to comment on whether it looks correct or not, I’d appreciate it.

The frosted outer ring on the perlage is unusual but other than that I can’t see anything amiss with the case back.

Exactly, it’s mainly that outer ring that concerned me, although some of it might be lighting. Also most of the photos I’ve seen of supposedly correct 167.005 caseback interiors seem to have perlage in which the circles overlap more closely and are more subtle, but I understand there is some variation.
