Omega Constellation 14902 Pie Pan: Cal 564 Mismatch?

Hi all,

Looking at a 14902 62 SC but confused about the movement.

Is the 564 movement possible on a 14902 62 SC? I have only really seen 561.

Other than that, the dial looks good to me but the date dial is quite aged relatively speaking. The caseback is quite soft/faded but reflected in the price, £1350.

Welcome any and all opinions.

Did the seller paint the logo on the back in grey?????

The 14902 'finished' around 1962
The cal 564 appeared around 1966
So you were right to be confused.

You need to study correct Constellation dials a bit more as this one screams 'redial'.
From the very strange colour of the repaint, to the thickness of the script, to the Ts on the bottom of the dial.

The pie-pan dog-leg Constellations are getting trendy, so all this obvious garbarge is popping up all over. It will be bought from a "dealer" by a newbie for a premium who will say that he likes the "professionally restored" dial because it looks clean and new.

100% dial is repaint poorly

"T Swiss Made T" on a watch with no tritium lume on the dial or hands is a pretty good sign of a redial.
