Buying a Constellation is never a bad investment... 😀
Well i meant "money-value-wise" a bad investment.. I still enjoyed the watch to its full potential! therefore it was a good investment 😁

Well done i would say! 👍 i havent seen such good deal in Europe for a while..
Whether a purchase was a good investment or not, depends obviously on the price and condition.
I paid for my Conny EUR 1400,- last year, and tried to sell here recently for EUR~990,- and there was not too much interest to be honest.
Therefore i obviously made a bad "investment" 😀 😉
May I have your link? I think I can evaluate and tell you what I think.

The most important is the dial conditions. Then comes the extra things like onyx markers, small hour marker, original crown and bracelet..etc...
Maybe your dial condition is less than perfect and it is why it cannot sale.
I see No Mercy had a 168.005 sold for nearly $2000 here.

Yeah, ever since all the collectors repeating the mantra "condition, condition, condition..", specimen like these are of less interest. which i obviously fully understand! maybe it is a reason even why i wanted to sell in the first place. 😗

Normally, the 14381 and 14393 sale a bit less than 167.005 and 168.005.
And I only buy them if they have something special going with it.

For me that's great! I never really enjoyed the lugs on the 167.005 and I prefer the dial without "Officially Certified." 😀

I'm firmly in the 143XX camp myself - official certification be damned 😁

I am trying to find replacement crystals, but am not sure which ref. numbers are correct. Here's what I found:

14393: PZ5140
14902: ?
168.005: either PZ5015 or PZ5016?

I found conflicting information for the 168.005. Does anybody know which one fits and which one for the 14902?

I understand that these crystals are not longer easy to find as Omega doesn't sell spare parts anymore. Does that mean the only option is to use Omega service (unless one can find an original crystal on the open market)?

Thanks,
Roger

14393: PZ5140

Correct for SS case. Full part number is 063PZ5140.

14902: ?

063PZ5015 for SS case

168.005: either PZ5015 or PZ5016?

063PZ5015 for SS case

063PZ5016 for SP version with SS case

Omega does sell spare parts, but not to the third party resellers. They now only sell parts directly to watchmakers, eliminating the middle man. If you find a watchmaker who has an Omega parts account, they can service the watch and get the parts needed for it, including the crystals.

Hi Al,

thanks a lot for this information. Just one more question: what is the SP version?

Do you service Omega watches? Ideally I would have a local watchmaker, but I don't know of any trustworthy watchmaker in Switzerland (how ironic). I am sure they exist, but it is hard to give a watch to someone you don't know. Even though I don't know you, I know that you are a trustworthy expert from all your posts in this forum.

Cheers, Roger

It will have "SP" marked inside the case back, after the case number.
