Hi Gents,
thinking of auctioning this pie-pan

Crown seems date accurate...
Not sure if it's not over-polished.

Seeking a second opinion.

Thanks in advance!

The medallion is a good indicator and the case looks polished indeed. Maybe ask for better pictures if you’re still interested because the dial looks good, but the bad lighting and focus can hide some issues

It has an incorrect decagonal crown, meant for earlier references.

Auctioning? You mean bidding at an auction?

Hmm, what am I reading wrong?

It has one of the top crowns pictured when it should have one of the bottom crowns.

Dial looks refinished to me.

I just took it for an early 'full text' 14381 (17,0xx serial)
But with the poor quality of the pics, your guess is as good as anyone's.

No, the early full text 14381 had straighr chevron M. Not slanted.

Hmmmm - are you sure?
They are quite uncommon but a couple of members have full text dials from both the start and end of the reference's run.
I thought the ones shown on OF had both Ms as slanted - but I would have to find them to be sure.
(I think @TexOmega might have one?)

BTW, I don't think the dial you show is a 14381 dial.
AFAIK, 14381/14393 dials never had 'chronometre' spelling.

God damn - you're right of course - my prostrate apologies 😬

and just to complete the humble pie eating session
here is a pic of @TexOmega 's uncommon lumed arrowhead 14381- with dual Ms AND 'chronometre" spelling

I have the same version as TexOmega with the factory lume package and mine is also one of the 20,000 with double Ms and the ChronometRE spelling.

yes, I knew you had the other one I was thinking of - I just didn't think hard enough (or I'm now going senile....)

Returning to the OPs watch…….could it be an earlier movement has been put into a later /7 case?

i have an 18K 14381/2, with 18.2 serial and EofA (confirming it was prod Jan 1962 and delivered to Ireland - it also has Dublin hallmarks over the medallion confirming that jt was imported in 1962)
