Omega Companion Watch

A couple of years ago, forum member Kingsrider got me interested in the Omega Seamaster "Companion" watches. I was absolutely hooked on those two dots (one on either side 12) on the dial (similar to the Speedmaster) for some strange reason. Those dots separated the "companion" from the other Seamaster. Don't get me wrong the 166.002 Seamasters are very charming and I can't get enough of them.

But, those two dots to me, are like some "secret handshake" with other Omega lovers when you notice them on someone's wrist. This particular model is not well known, so when you see it on someone's wrist you know that Omega lover is from a different pedigree.

In the last few years, I have acquired a few companions that I have included here. I would appreciate other members showing their collections of this model and discussing their thoughts on it. How many different dial colors have you seen?

Hello All!
I will post some shots of my small collection in a day or two. I know some of the dial variations (in addition to Seamaster) include Geneve on the dials. Lets see those variants also.

Nobody else have a “Companion”? Show your Companions.

I know there are that many around, but this rare?

Great thread topic @Paulomega !

Thanks to a series of post by @kingsrider & I believe @JwRosenthal I also caught the bug for these Companion references. I have a grey sunburst dial example similar to the one in the first couple photos of the OP without the date complication. I’m out of town but when I’m home I’ll snap a photo of the watch when I’m back in a few days.

Every couple of years I do a quick search for this just to see if I can find an identical dial to my companion… I’ve finally found one in yours! It’s weird to see another one and the same exact configuration and condition after so long. I posted about my watch back in 2012 (see my post history), glad to finally have a twin out there!

Nice!

These are my current two

Also check out this thread. Lots more examples there. I’m going to get around to rewriting it with a better structure in the next few months.
