Hi. I am not an expert for this reference, but I have seen other variations of Seamasters of that time, like mid 50s and early 60s, where there could have been a Seamaster inscription, and where there was in fact one.

To me, this dial looks very nice and authentic, and the case is honest and sharp: Great looking watch. I think, if my view is right and the dial is correct, it would sound like a very good price given the condition.

Excited to see what the more experienced have to say though!

I have a US collection Seamaster where the dial was printed twice... once with "OMEGA AUTOMATIC CALENDAR" and "Seamaster" was added later.

If there is a SWISS MADE there, and it looks like there might be, it is obscured, so maybe not refinished. But I could see a not-Seamaster dial being substituted at the factory.

It doesn’t shout redial to me. The lack of Seamaster text is odd, though, since I believe only the earliest Seamasters lacked the text (1948-50 or so), whereas this one dates to 1954.

I don't think I have ever seen a Seamaster-less Seamaster of this age before.

$600 is too much, considering the dial damage between 2 and 3 and the questionmarks re. the Seamaster script.

@seekingseaquest I was thinking the same about the early bumper Seamasters (the very first ones), but then I reminded my self of this video:

Here is a comparison done by Omega Enthusiast of two examples with 15.xxx.xxx and 16.xxx.xxx serial numbers and caliber 267. They are almost identical, but one has Seamaster on the dial, the other does not.

Wow, I did not spot that stain!

My commentary does not apply to all Seamaster references, only the late 40s and 50s beefy lug references.

I hate that background; it's designed to distract you from the dial flaws like the line at 11:30 on the seconds dial. What's the outside of the caseback look like?
