Omega Chronostop DRIVER 41mm?

Hi,

I've recently purchased this unusual Omega Chronostop Drivers Watch.

From what I can tell, Omega only made the Driver in a 35 mm case, with "Geneve" on the dial, ref 145.010.

They also made an almost identical larger normally aligned Seamaster, ref. 145.007 in a 41mm case with "Seamaster" on the dial.

Now the one I have has the Seamaster case back, is 41 mm and is a Drivers, aligned with 9 o'clock at the top of the watch and has "Geneve" on the dial!

Any information or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.

If only there was a driver version 145.010 that had been a 41mm diameter case similar to the 145.007 I probably would have never parted with the example I previously had. I kinda dig the concept though, a bit of a fun, unexpected franken.

Are you asking how many 145.010 driver's were made by the Omega factory? Or how many examples exist of the particular watch you have?

If you are referring to your watch, that you posted photos of, I'm not sure if anyone could say how many were made as it is suspected to not be a model that came from the Omega factory. I would be surprised if multiple examples exist. You may be aware but when myself and the others say "franken" or "frankenwatch" we are referring to the watch as an assemblage of parts of different watches into one watch. The moniker "franken" or "frankenwatch" comes from the naming of the fictional character Frankenstein.

Yes, thank you for your reply. I was aware of the term but I while I've been able to find 145.007 Omega watch cases and 865 movements, I have yet to find anywhere a dial that 1) is 41mm and has Geneve on the dial rather than Seamaster, and 2) has a 41 mm dial rotated 90 degress with either Seamaster or Geneve on the dial. Would appreciate your comments as to where this part may have come from. Cheers

Parts form more than one watch have been put together to make up the watch you have.

The dials are all the same size and can be swapped from reference to reference, large case or small case.

The dial might be the same size, but I can't find a 41mm Omega dial like that with Geneve on it rather than Seamaster. If the dial came from another watch could you tell me which one that was please. Cheers, much appriciated.

The dial came from the smaller Geneve, the dial is the same size on both

As noted above, the dial is from a 145.010.

The outer black bezel with tachymeter scale is a separate piece from the dial and is what makes it look larger in the Seamaster
