I have an Omega Chronostop Driver, 145.010.
Omega Chronostop Driver
Ref: 145.010 Driver
Caliber / Movement: 865 (no-Date)
Line: Geneve
Depth Rating: 30m
Bezel: fixed 1/5 sec.
Diameter: 35mm

My parents bought it for me in 1978. It was new when it was purchased. The serial number indicates that it was manufactured in 1967.
It is the drivers watch with the 12 at the 3 o'clock position.

I have some questions.

1. It needs a crown as the original was lost 40+ years ago. What part number is the crown? Since the crown has been missing for so many years, the watch has not been wound and there's no way to know if it is still working.

2. I think the crystal is the original however I do not see the omega symbol in it. I don't remember getting the crystal replaced. Does anyone know what a replacement crystal part number would be for this watch? I have read a few articles about this watch saying that most generic replacement crystals are the wrong shape for this watch and that you should only get an omega crystal.

3. I plan on getting it serviced. Does anyone know a reputable watch maker / service person, in the Toronto Canada area who can service Omega watches? I have already had a quote of $1000 CAD to service it and use a generic crystal on it by a jeweler. An omega crystal would be an extra $300. I am hesitant to use the jeweller and would prefer going directly to a watchmaker. I am hesitant to spend more than the watch is worth to service it.

4. Is there anything else I should know about this watch and about getting it serviced before I trust somebody with it? At this point in time, I have decided to take the watch back from the jeweller and just keep it in my drawer until I find another service person.

Thanks all and I look forward to reading any replies and comments

Nice watch since you’re orig owner it s worth servicing
Use independent watchmaker (not jeweler) with Omega parts account for best results and value.
Let them source the needed parts it’s their job.

I have one too, it's still waiting for service. I can't see the logo on my watch glass either, maybe it wasn't there? The article doesn't mention that.
