Does anyone have an Omega watch with nothing on the inside of the caseback?. No reference number or stamping of any kind. There is a Hippocampus on the outside, so it is an Omega caseback. Could a caseback without any information or stamping be a generic service caseback?.
Most of the things are blank on the inside. I wanted to have a guess of what the outer side might tell.
So the caseback looks like in the second picture and you only have the back and it wasn't mounted to a watch?
I feel sorry, because I'm not familiar with Omega chronographs. But surely some experts will be here and find an answer soon. Good luck!
Two questions. Is this a possible service caseback?. Is it possible the watch left the factory with a blank caseback?. Is there a possible third scenario?.
Old obsolete parts being discarded by internal decision at Omega at some point, with watchmakers taking the parts going for the trash can themselves, later ending up in circulation??
Perhaps it was given a fresh coat of perlage to eliminate engraving and watchmaker's scribbling. Aka evidence.
