Omega calibre 1002 rotor bushing

Hi all

Hobbyist here. Encountered an issue with my Omega cal 1002 rotor rubbing on other components. From what I can see online, it seems within the 'rotor gear' (is there a better name for this?) there is a bushing which wears down over time.

I am wanting to replace it however cannot identify a part number or what it is even called! I then thought maybe it would come as part of a package with either the rotor axle or automatic bridge but that doesn't seem to be the case. It's driving me mad trying to find it.

Does anyone know what this part is called (or better yet what the part number is)?

PFA - taken from user @Dansnoppydoo. The gear isn't pictured, although sits in where the red circle is under the gib.

Thanks BT!

It would have been called the rotor pinion, but it has been discontinued for a long time so it’s not even listed in most tech guides or parts lists. It looks similar to the 550 series but different size. Omega has only sold the complete rotor for a long time now, so you would need to find one that isn’t worn out already.

I did manage to find some of these pinions years ago, but have since used them all up…

This pains me, although I am not surprised.

Where you say Omega only sells the complete rotor, is it the case this is still more readily available in the market?

I would likely just buy the whole rotor setup if we are entering parts scarcity territory.

Cheers!

I haven’t looked for new pinions on the open market recently, so not sure what the availability of those are. But given that not many of these movements were made before the switch to the 1010 series, I’m guessing there weren’t a ton of them out there to start with.

Ok, I think I have found one. Would you apply a lubricant to the rotor shaft where the pinion sits on? Or any other tips to prolong the life of the bushing? Thanks

Yes, 9104 on the rotor axle.
