Hello I think I finally found a nice example of a vintage omega calendar rose gold capped and I would like some opinions about the condition and the price. The only thing that bothers me is the crown which lost the gold capping and looks stainless steel , also the buckle is not omega which can be fixed , the asking price is €750 , plus 90 for the service and crysta buffing.

I would only consider paying that kind of money for a 2849 if it was in better condition - the main point here is the refinished dial which removes most of the value for most collectors.

Hard to tell with those crappy photos. Not a single clear photo of the dial..
Case is quite tired and hard to tell what is dirt and what is wear.
Movement is dirty and needs service, so add 200 EUR on top.
Crown will be quite hard to find in rose gold and will cost you another 50 euro.
I would not pay that money to get very mediocre watch.

Sorry for the photos my hand was quite shaky and the phone couldnt focus , yeah I thought so because the watch face didnt have swiss made at the bottom of the dial .

I agree with the above and will add that to me a redialled 2849 in this condition is much more €250-300 than €750.

No lume dots. Misaligned printing. Bad fonts.

On this watch it is especially the "seamaster" which is the incorrect font. A big telltale is the shape of the S which normally would be one of two distinct shapes; either the curved S or the so-called coat hanger shape (you can look these up). Notice also that the dial has no lume. While it is common for some dials not to have lume, as a general rule of thumb the dial should have lume if the hands have (has is the case with this watch).

Is the watch for sale at a watchmaker? A crystal buffing and service for 90 euro seems very cheap.

Well in Greece pretty much everything is cheaper including the services plus the guy that sells the watch has a shop and gives many watches for service to this particular watchmaker.

Yes but an asking price of €750 for this redialled unserviced watch is in IMHO extremely expensive. If you ask me a service has already been priced into the unserviced watch, so paying an extra €90 to actually have the work done brings the cost up to €840 which is ludicrous for such a piece.

OP- forget this one and move on

I completely agree. There are much better watches out there at better prices.

For some reason these Calendar Seamasters have unfortunately quite bad dials most of them. I don't know if it is dial "paint" it self or clear lacquer coating on top, but they tend to age in a quite ugly way.
Hence, most of them are actually redials.

It's desireable reference but if you skip the date and "calendar" text you can look at 2846 instead. A lot more dial variations and pretty much same case design but more affordable and in my opinion better value for the money. You can find VERY nice 2648 example for around 800 Euro. Maybe worth looking in to.

On the other hand, if you like what you see and you will enjoy it, then go for it. But simply put, it's not a good investment 😀.

Cheers..

Over priced and you will probably never find a crown for it. Last genuine rose gold crown I had was 2010 and only one I found in over 400 crowns purchased.

Sold it for $65.00 back then. Today would be more than double if I still had it.

Always do a parts search on certain models to be sure you can complete them
